About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania with over 14 years of experience working with people navigating complex mental health and substance use concerns, grief and loss, as well as the emotional impact of significant medical conditions and life circumstances. I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University after studying psychology and criminology as an undergraduate at IUP.
Through my experience working within hospital systems with people navigating alcohol-related liver disease, cancer, and the transplant process, as well as in medication-assisted and integrated outpatient treatment settings, I have supported individuals, caregivers, and family members through some of life’s most complicated circumstances. I have also worked with people navigating systems related to substance use, mental health, and interpersonal violence. These experiences have taught me that meaningful change often takes place alongside many other challenges.
I believe therapy begins with creating a relationship where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported. My approach is person-centered and grounded in meeting you where you are, without judgment or assumptions about what your healing should look like.
My work is collaborative and practical, with an emphasis on understanding what matters most to you and identifying steps that feel meaningful and achievable. I bring experience from both behavioral health and integrated medical settings, and I value helping people feel more empowered and informed as they navigate complicated systems, relationships, and life transitions.
My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based approaches including the Transtheoretical Model, harm reduction, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and other strengths-based and solution-focused practices. I tailor each session to meet your individual needs, drawing from these approaches to help you better understand yourself and create meaningful change.
As a therapist, I prioritize collaboration. I believe therapy works best when we function as a team—working together to identify your goals and actively track your progress. I understand that many people come to therapy feeling stuck or discouraged, especially if they have tried therapy before and did not see the results they hoped for. My goal is to help you break that pattern by creating a space where you feel supported, empowered, and capable of meaningful, lasting change.

How I Help
My approach is primarily person-centered, drawing from motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, case management, and solution-focused interventions. I tailor treatment to each person's goals, needs, and circumstances rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. My experience in integrated healthcare and substance use treatment allows me to consider the ways mental health, physical health, relationships, and other aspects of a person's life intersect.
I am particularly passionate about working with people who have felt overwhelmed by complex systems or who have struggled to find care that recognizes the full picture of what they are experiencing. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what is happening, reconnect with your own priorities, and identify a path forward that feels right for you.
